Inthe artist Linder Sterling spliced together the image of an iron-headed woman with gnashing fangs for nipples using pages from a girly mag and an Argos shopping catalogue. Resized, organized, and formatted by graphic designer Malcolm Garrett using a photocopier, the explosive collaboration culminated in the iconic design for the single Orgasm Addict by British punk band The Buzzcocks.
Something of a legend in British graphic design, Malcolm Garrett cut his teeth designing artwork for bands such as Buzzcocks, Simple Minds and Duran Duran but has since become a key figure in the evolution of the sector. While his name will always be synonymous with those iconic music industry collaborations, the past 20 years have seen him develop pioneering work in the digital space, and in was the first Royal Designer for Industry in the field of interactive media. F Smith, it marks 40 years since his seminal sleeve for Buzzcocks, and sees designers reworking the cover. I screen printed it by hand, in college.

The sleeve was devised by graphic designer Malcolm Garrett and featured a collage of an iron-headed woman, created by artist Linder Sterling. I never cleared the copyright but no one noticed, so it was alright. This was the only single featuring bassist Garth Smithwho joined in early to replace Steve Digglewho switched to guitar.
